Stopping Isolated Applications

You can stop and unload applications from memory without stopping the Web server. This makes it easier to develop and debug applications.

To stop an isolated application
  1. In the IIS snap-in, select the Web site or the starting point directory of an application.
  2. Open the directory's property sheets, and click the Home Directory, Virtual Directory, or Directory tab.

    If you are in the directory listed as the Starting Point directory, the Application Name box is filled in.

  3. Click the Unload button.

    If the Unload button appears dimmed, you are not in the application's starting point directory.
