Customizing W3C Extended Logging

If you are using W3C Extended log file format for a Web or FTP site, you can customize it by selecting the fields (items) you want to log. You can gather details using fields important to you, while limiting log size by omitting unneeded fields.

To customize W3C Extended logging
  1. Select a Web or FTP site, and open its property sheets.
  2. Enable logging if it is disabled, and select the W3C Extended log file format.
  3. Click Properties.
  4. On the Extended Properties property sheet, select the fields you want to log. By default, Date, Time, Client IP Address, User Name, Server IP Address, Server Port, Method, URI Stem, URI Query, Protocol Status, and User Agent are enabled.
  5. Click Apply.
