Assigning Web Site Operators
Web site Operators are Windows user accounts that have limited
administration privileges on a Web site.
To add an Operator
- In the Internet
Information Services snap-in, select the Web site and open its
property sheets.
- On the Operators property sheet, under Web Site
Operator, click the Add button. This opens the Add
Users and Groups window.
- Either select a user or group from the Names list or
select another name list from the List Names From box.
- Select a member from a group of users by clicking the
Members button and selecting the member from the window.
- Search for a user or group on a network by clicking the
Search button.
To remove an Operator
- In the Internet
Information Services snap-in, select the Web site and click the
Properties button to display its property sheets.
- On the Operators property sheet, under Web Site
Operator, select the user or groups and click the Remove
button.
Note
Web site Operator accounts need not necessarily be
members of a Windows Administrators group.
