Verifying Your Computer Identity

If you are not seeing the name or address you expect to see in the description of a Web or FTP site displayed on the Web Site or FTP Site property sheet, you can verify the network name and address of your computer by doing the following:

To verify your IP address, at the command prompt, type ipconfig, and then press ENTER. Your current IP address, subnet mask, and default gateway are displayed.
To verify your computer name, open the property sheets for My Computer. The Network Identification tab displays your computer name.
